Smarch is a software development company with a clear mission: to actively contribute to global forest restoration through their work. By dedicating a portion of their profits to planting trees, Smarch connects digital product development with tangible environmental impact, turning every project into a step toward a more sustainable future.
They approached KICKFLIP with the goal of transforming this mission into a clear, memorable, and engaging brand experience. The challenge was to communicate both technical expertise and environmental responsibility without falling into clichés, while creating a digital presence that could scale alongside their growing impact.

It All Starts With a Seed
The brand name itself comes from Смърч (Smarch in Bulgarian), the evergreen coniferous spruce tree. This became the conceptual foundation of the identity.
Our task was to create a minimal yet expressive logotype that could symbolically represent growth, sustainability, and the digital nature of Smarch’s work. The result is a clean wordmark paired with a tree symbol that functions as both a brand signature and a modular visual element across digital and physical touchpoints.
The identity was designed to feel calm, intentional, and optimistic, reinforcing the idea that meaningful change starts small and grows over time.

Bringing the Symbol to Life
To extend the brand beyond the logo, we developed a custom illustration system based on low-poly, isometric landscapes. These illustrations became the core visual language of Smarch, used across the website, icons, and communication materials.
The stylized forests, floating landforms, and simplified geometry reflect both the technical precision of software development and the organic nature of environmental growth. This approach allowed the brand to remain visually distinctive while staying minimal and scalable.
Icons, interface elements, and motion details were derived from the same system, ensuring visual consistency across every interaction.

On the Web
The website experience was designed to mirror the brand’s philosophy: simple, focused, and purposeful. Content was structured around Smarch’s main user archetypes, allowing visitors to quickly understand the company’s services, approach, and values.
Custom illustrations and subtle micro-interactions were introduced to create moments of delight without distracting from clarity or usability. The result is a digital presence that feels human, memorable, and aligned with the brand’s mission, while clearly communicating Smarch’s role as a reliable development partner.

The final result is a cohesive brand and digital experience that connects technology, sustainability, and storytelling into a single system. Smarch now presents itself not just as a software development company, but as a purpose-driven partner where every project contributes to measurable environmental impact.
The identity provides a strong foundation for long-term growth, allowing the brand to scale its services and its forests side by side.
