MONO is a minimalist productivity app designed around a simple idea: complete one important task each day. We worked on the full UX strategy, interface design, and interaction model to create a gesture-based experience that feels natural, engaging, and distraction-free. By stripping away clutter and adding playful, color-driven cues, MONO redefines how users interact with their daily priorities.
Most productivity apps overload users with features, lists, and notifications. The result? More stress, not less. MONO set out to be different - a gesture-based app that helps users focus on just one meaningful task each day, supported by simple reminders and clean statistics.
The challenge for KICKFLIP was to translate this radical simplicity into an interface that is both engaging and functional - balancing minimalism with a touch of delight.

We designed MONO with a mobile-first, gesture-based UX that feels natural and fast. Swipes and taps replace menus, while bold color transitions signal different states (add, complete, delete, stats). Every interaction is visual, intuitive, and rewarding.
To reinforce engagement, we introduced:
Color-coded urgency levels - splashes of red, green, and blue tied directly to task state.
Minimalist flow - just one task on screen at a time.
Guided onboarding - simple, swipe-based tutorials to make gestures feel second nature.
Cross-device design - adapting the experience for Apple Watch with glanceable stats and reminders.
